Both have lights, numberplates, indicators, and are fully road-legal. We’re heading out on two bikes today – the SM supermoto and the EXR dual-sport enduro version. But Harley has dropped its partnership with Alta (the Milwaukee outfit is now opening its own electric R&D centre near here…), so the firm is back on its own, building a range of high-tech battery-powered motocross, enduro, supermoto and dual sport bikes at its small factory in Brisbane, south of San Francisco. The firm really hit the mainstream headlines when it agreed a tie-up with Harley-Davidson though, helping H-D with its plans for an electric bike line. I only noticed the weight when we had to pick it up, uphill from Billys spin off the trail. Even though they weigh more than a modern racing I.C.E off-road bike the C.O.G is placed just right so it turns quick and has great front to rear balance. Only one speed so no need to shift, no clutch so no need to fear stalling, and the instant torque puts single cylinder gas bikes to shame.
ALTA REDSHIFT MX FOR SALE NEAR ME PLUS
With Billy riding the Redshift like he stole it plus one long hill climb and Jacob and I getting 4 miles on the bike at setting 4, we were only able to get about 22 miles out of a charge. Billy left it on 3 which he felt was the best comparison to his woods prepped ’01 CR250 in performance and attempted range. It has 4 power settings from mild to wild. The Redshift has a modern dirt bike chassis that rivals the best out there and let me just say this bike is quick! Billy read it will out-accelerate a new KTM 690 0 to 50 mph and is compared to a 250F otherwise. However, Jacob and I are familiar with eStreet and eOff-Road bikes from our time at Brammo. None of us had ridden this bike in the dirt so our thoughts are strictly as new Redshift eDirt Bike riders. We had a blast!
